The EHS PTSA and its community partner are teaming up to bring you Mock SAT and ACT testing right here at Eastlake.  These full-length practice tests offer students the opportunity to practice test-taking strategies and determine baseline scores prior to taking the official SAT and ACT college entrance exams. 

Both the SAT and ACT tests are widely used by U.S. colleges to determine admissions and award scholarships.  Because the SAT and the ACT test on different subjects and score differently, students may perform better on one than the other; therefore, we recommend students take both tests to see which one is better for them. 

NEW* Mock PSAT opportunity  

For the class of 2025 and younger, the College Board is transitioning the PSAT and SAT from pencil-and-paper format to digital format. Becoming familiar with the new digital-format tests will be key for students (current Freshmen and Sophomores) to feel confident as they head into their official PSAT in October. 

Research shows that practice exams simulating the testing environment are a critical step in the preparation process. Not only do they provide a baseline for setting a goal score, but these practice exams provide valuable experience with the stamina and focus required to excel. The Revolution Prep Academic Advisor dedicated to your school will offer students the opportunity to take a free practice exam on campus. Taking a Revolution Prep Practice Exam Entails: 

• Full-length ACT® and SAT® practice exams simulating the real testing experience (via Zoom proctor)
• Same-day grading. Students don’t have to wait for results
• Detailed score reports with actionable information for developing a study plan
• A free 30-minute score report review session with your dedicated Academic Advisor to review scores, answer any questions, and put a testing timeline in place.

After taking a practice exam, we’ve found that students and parents have a lot of questions. So as a benefit to all families, Revolution Prep offers a complimentary, one-on-one score review session in a video conferencing setting. Revolution Prep’s Academic Advisor will conduct a detailed review with each student and their parents to break down their score report,
highlighting strengths and weaknesses, as well as the opportunities for improvement. From there, our advisors will work with families to put together a plan for achieving their goal score and developing confidence.

This unique service is open to everyone, and a chance to add context to score reports, assess all the available steps forward, and no matter the action plan, provide resources to properly prepare for these intensive exams. For some students, the test itself can be so discouraging that they don’t even want to see their scores. Our aim is to transform this crucial process from a scary and stressful one to a motivational and insightful experience.
