In conjunction with The National PTA Alcohol and Drug Free Resolution and the Washington State PTA, the EHS PTSA participates in the Parent Pledge Program to achieve the following goals:

  • Build a communication network to reduce the use of alcohol and other drugs among teens in our school and community.
  • Host only alcohol-, tobacco- and drug-free parties for teens.
  • Not allow teens to possess or consume alcohol, tobacco or other drugs at their homes; and
  • Discourage their teens from attending unsupervised parties.

By signing this Parent Pledge, you are showing other EHS families that you intend to supervise your student's social gatherings in your home to ensure that they are free of alcohol, tobacco and drugs. It also indicates that you may be contacted by other parents about parties and get-togethers. This pledge sends a clear message that as a parent/guardian, and as a community, we believe underage drinking, tobacco and drug use is unacceptable. This pledge is NOT a legally binding contract, but rather an agreement among the parents who sign it to support one another and their students in maintaining a safe and healthy environment for education, growth and fun.
