The Eastlake High School Senate is a very important group at EHS. Its members are responsible for creating and updating policies concerning the entire school, ranging from off-campus passes to the school budget. The group is composed of parents, students, classified employees and administrators, with each group representing their constituency's best interests. According to the current EHS Constitution there are three senior, two junior and two sophomore senators, two PTSA parents, six faculty, our assistant principal, and a classified representative. However, with the change to a four year school, the constitution has not been changed yet to include freshmen but they are now welcome to apply.

The group usually meets one afternoon per month at 2:40 pm to discuss proposed policies and examine requests for amendments to already established ones. The members have found that although democracy is a slow process, it is one that works very well, and many important policies have been put into place by this group. If there are any questions or concerns about policies, or an interest in the creation of new ones, input is always welcome. The EHS Senate is a positive group, dedicated to the fair treatment of positive growth of everyone at Eastlake!

If you have a student who is interested in being a part of Senate, have them contact Chris Bede (wbede@lwsd.org). The PTSA parents are Shannon Cannon (thecannonfamily4@gmail.com) and Kris Woerner (k.woerner@comcast.net). The first meeting is planned for Monday, November 3.
